    Out of the three materials for inground pools, concrete is the most expensive to install and maintain. Fiberglass is less expensive than concrete.     One of the things to remember is that every pool requires maintenance. However, the degree of work required to keep your pool looking and functioning its best varies. Compared to concrete pools, vinyl is considered low maintenance and requires less chemicals given its nonporous surface. Vinyl’s smooth finish also makes contaminants like algae hard to grow on, and prevents unwanted scraps or cuts should anyone slip or fall while enjoying the pool. Depending on how well it is maintained and the amount of sunlight and wear-and-tear, vinyl pool liners on average last between 5 – 10 years before it needs replacing.
